Re: Born Hainanese.
Honestly, personally, i like daughters. Which means that, nomatter what, one daughter is a must. Sons are second priority. Have them, nice one. Dont have them, sua. As for my case, i think my family wouldn't mind NOT carrying on our surname lolx! Afterall, my mom hates the way our surname sounds and probably wouldnt mind getting rid of it haha!!! =X Besides, people do not use their surnames to secure a rewarding career, clinch good deals, or even to socialize or get good grades! So seriously, surnames aren't much of a use afterall are they!?!?!! ....except for easier recognition... That's about it! Whoever u marry, Whatever u become in future or However much u earn, a Fan is always a Fan and the Fan Blood runs in YOU, ur bro, ur sis. No more no less. Nomatter how much ur parents or grandparents disregard or bemoan the ills of daughters, or doubt the power of our female genes, they cant deny the fact that INFACT, anyone and everyone, regardless of gender, is ALREADY carrying on their respective darn family lines! As long as one bears children, good enough!! Tada...desires/goals met! I mean it's like, wa liews sia....so traditional ah ur family!! i seriously cannot tahan ! lol. Didnt noe it still exists so strongly. Especially when the world's so globalised and coupled with S'pore being one of the most modernized cities in the world. Ohmygut.....scr** the surname culture thingy!! Who needs so many Fans or Leows or Tans or Lis or Yeongs or Ngs or Laus or Lees when there's like TONS & TONS already!! NO NEED! Not even unique anymore lor!!! GIVE UP!!!
generally, i love babies^.^ of all sorts be it human or animal(not insects)....its just that i cant stomach ur family culture thing la....
okay....anger vented. peace.
